The film is rated R and runs for one hour and 57 minutes, ensuring that fans of the fantasy anime’s beautifully animated, high-octane combat will get to see some bloody and well-choreographed battle scenes. It broke the $100 million milestone in Japan in just 10 days, and it’s since grossed nearly $400 million in the country alone, beating out Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and Titanic for the all-time record. But that hasn’t stopped the film from its box office domination. The film’s official title, in true anime style, is a bit of a mouthful: Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train. Now, the film is finally coming to North America, starting with a theatrical run in the US and Canada on April 23rd with distribution from Aniplex of America and Funimation.

In his final moments, Rengoku offers Tanjiro and his friends some words of encouragement. Still, with the sun quickly rising, Akaza flees to save himself as Tanjiro angrily screams that Rengoku is the rightful winner of the battle since he saved everyone while the Demon ran away as soon as the advantage of the night began to vanish. After a prolonged and spectacular clash, the Flame Hashira is mortally wounded by the Upper-Rank Demon.
With Tanjiro severely wounded and Inosuke completely outclassed, Rengoku battles this new threat alone. Enmu, Lower-Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, uses his Blood Demon Art to send the passengers into an unbreakable sleep, allowing his disciples to enter the dreams of his victims. When a suspicious conductor comes through to punch their tickets, the proud Hashira and his new young apprentices are immediately enchanted into a deep sleep. Tanjiro hopes to strengthen his own unique Hinokami Kagura technique - which seems to have ties to Flame Breathing - by studying under the Hashira, whom the boys quickly idolize after seeing Rengoku in action. Mugen Train begins with Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu boarding a train together as they've been instructed to join the Flame Hashira, Rengoku, investigating the disappearances of citizens and fellow Demon Slayers who have boarded this particular locomotive.
